John Lennon – Beautifully Signed “Rock ‘N’ Roll” Test Pressing LP, With Perry Cox COA (The Beatles)
A rare test pressing of John Lennon’s 1975 Rock ‘N’ Roll album, signed boldly on the inner sleeve. This has been authenticated by Perry Cox, author of the Price Guide to Beatles American Records, and one of the foremost Beatles experts in the world.
Cox’s included letter of authenticity describes this as an “Authentic 1975 John Lennon full name signed and inscribed vintage liner sleeve that accompanied a rare test pressing example of his his classic ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’ LP record. John writes “To Jan With Love, John Lennon” followed with his famous “doodle face” enhancement and the date “75”. He scripts all in blue ballpoint pen. (An) Outstanding example of John’s signature from this era.”
Lennon’s inscription and signature are bold and clear, measuring a large 6 3/4″ across. The inner sleeve is in Excellent condition, as is the original generic white test pressing album cover and the original xeroxed label copy sheet. The test pressing is in Near Mint condition, with stamper numbers SK-1-3419 Z6* and SK-2-3419 Z5. The side numbers written on each label are reversed (i.e., the side labeled Side 1 is actually Side 2.)
This is the only signed John Lennon test pressing we are aware of. Rock ‘N’ Roll is a highly regarded Lennon album, and the test pressing itself is extremely rare. This will frame beautifully.
With Perry Cox’s letter of authenticity and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
