Bob Dylan – Extremely Rare Signed 1964 Royal Festival Hall Concert Program (From his 1st UK Appearance)

An extremely rare autographed Bob Dylan concert program from his first ever UK performance, at the Royal Festival Hall, London on May 17, 1964.  Dylan boldly signed his photograph on the front cover shortly after his finishing the concert (the signature is 5″ long).

The program comes with a letter from the original recipient explaining ‘In 1964 I went with my wife Tina to the Bob Dylan concert at the Festival Hall. When I left the concert about 5.00pm I met a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time! When I finished talking the crowd had dispersed. When I got back to my car there was Bob Dylan standing on the pavement alone with his guitar. I went up to him and thanked him for a great concert! He was quite polite and he signed my programme for me. Has said he was waiting to flag down a taxi. I should has offered him a lift’.

The 8 page program includes an ad for The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan (noting  The Times They Are A ‘Changin’ will be ‘Available Shortly’), a “programme” listing songs (“Bob Dylan will introduce his own programme and will select much of it from-“), a reprint of an article by Ralph J. Gleason, and Dylan’s essay “My Life in a Stolen Moment”.

The program has been authenticated by music autograph expert Roger Epperson, Paul Wane of Tracks UK, and Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold, a Bob Dylan handwriting expert who appraised The Bob Dylan Archive for Dylan’s management.  Letters of authenticity from all three are included, as well as Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee.

In excellent condition, with a small chip to the bottom left corner, and a 1/2″ split to the bottom spine. A superb 1964 Dylan autograph on an extremely rare artifact.  This is the only example of this program we’ve had in 40 years of dealing in Dylan memorabilia.
