Otis Redding, Jefferson Airplane, Muddy Waters – 2 American Festival of Music ’67 Concert Posters

Two very rare concert posters for the American Festival of Music ’67, a three day festival in Boston bringing together some of the greatest acts in Rock, Blues, Folk, Gospel and Country.  Artists performing included Otis Redding (who died only a few months later,) Muddy Waters, the Jefferson Airplane (in their first Boston appearance,) Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Brownie McGhee & Sonny Terry, Jimmy Reed, Pete Seeger, Otis Spann, Dave Van Ronk, Flatt & Scruggs, Grandpa Jones, Tex Ritter and the Clara Ward Singers.

The smaller of these posters lists the entire lineup; printed on card stock it measures 7 1/4″ x 20″ and is in very good plus condition, with pinholes in the corners (two torn to the edge) and a horizontal crease. The larger poster is printed on thick card stock and lists just the venue, dates and ticket info; it measures 13″ x 19 3/4″ and is in excellent condition with some minor handling and corner dings.  We can find no other examples of these rare posters online or in any other collection.
