Beatles – 1965 Brian Epstein Signed Letter On NEMS Stationary

A letter from Beatles manager Brian Epstein to Atlanta DJ Paul Drew, dated April 7, 1965. Drew traveled with the Beatles during their 1964 and 1965 U.S. Tours. He accompanied The Beatles on their chartered plane, interviewing the group many times, and introducing them at their August 18, 1965 concert at Atlanta Stadium. Drew went on to become one of the most important radio programmers in the America, and interviewed the individual Beatles numerous times after the group split.

Epstein writes on his personal letterhead “Dear Paul, Some wonderful floral gifts arrived from you today at our party. Many thanks. Greatly appreciated. Yours sincerely, Brian Epstein.”

On April 7, 1965 The Beatles were filming their second film, HELP! at Twickenham Film Studios just outside London. The party Epstein referred to was probably a ceremony the day before, where during a break in filming The Beatles received a “Bell” award from Radio Caroline, and were interviewed for broadcast on the pirate station.

Epstein’s signature is in blue ballpoint pen, measuring 4 ¼”. Letter 6 7/8” x 7 ½”, in excellent condition, with barely perceptible mailing folds. Included is an 8” x 10” publicity photo of Brian Epstein, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
