An outstanding hand painted three cell production setup from the Beatles animated film Yellow Submarine.  Consisting of three animation cells stapled together, this depicts John Lennon standing by a tree with a hanging green apple, highly evocative of the Beatles newly formed Apple Records.

The large Lennon image measures 10 1/2″ wide and 8 1/4 tall.  Each of the cells have notations at the bottom, the top one reading ‘Boob Rescue Sc3′ TR=6’, the middle one  ‘SC 17  A 23’  and the bottom one ‘Sc 17  J 23’.

While Yellow Submarine was originally conceived as a way for the Beatles to finish their three film obligation to United Artists, it is now seen as a landmark of innovative animation.

In the original fold-open mat it was sold in, with a gold metallic starburst sticker reading ‘One of a Kind Original Art From the full length cartoon feature The Beatles Yellow Submarine A Collector’s Treasure’ (the cell can easily be removed from the mat for framing.)

In near mint condition.  There is a small tear to the foil on the sticker, and four glue spots on the back of the mat.
