Beatles – John Lennon – Signed In His Own Write Book
A beautifully signed UK first edition of John Lennon's "In His Own Write." Lennon's first book was published in March of 1964, as the Beatles were filming "A Hard Day's Night." Filled with Lennon's humorous drawings and distinctive wordplay, the book was well reviewed and sold accordingly. This copy was likely signed on April 23, 1964 at the Foyles bookstore literary luncheon in London, at which Lennon appeared. Many signed copies from the Foyles luncheon contain an inscription to the recipient, and/or multiple signatures from others including Beatle insiders Brian Epstein, singer Helen Shapiro, and actor Wilfred Brambell ("who appeared in A Hard Day's Night.") This copy, however, is undedicated and signed only by John Lennon–the most desirable way to have it. As you can see, the signature (in black pen) is bold and as nice as they come. In overall excellent condition, with very minor wear. With letter of authenticity from Perry Cox, renowned Beatles authority and author of "Price Guide for The Beatles American Records." Provenance:Ex Christies London Rock & Pop Auction. As with everything we offer, guaranteed authentic with no time limit.
