Bill Monroe – Twice signed AFTRA Contract
A membership application to join the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA,) filled out and signed twice by Bill Monroe (as Bill Monroe and William Monroe.) This dates from Monroe's appearance on a television show, "Country Music Time," in 1963. On the reverse, Monroe has written that he is a "singer-musician" and ticked off a box indicating his income from radio, television, transcriptions, and phonograph records during the last year was "0 to $2000." Matted with an original 1948 Columbia Records advertising flyer for Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys, listing their current releases on the reverse. Both in near mint condition, archivally matted to 16" x 20." A historic and very rare signed contract from the father of bluegrass.
