An original program for Bob Dylan’s first ever concert, at the Carnegie Chapter Hall in New York (a room in the Carnegie Hall complex.) This was Dylan’s first headlining show (previously he had only played clubs in Greenwich Village.) Only 50 to 60 people attended, but it marked Dylan’s transition from club to concert artist. This show was promoted by Izzy Young of the Village’s Folklore Center, an early and vocal advocate for Dylan. The program, an 8 ½’ x 11′ sheet folded in half, contains absurd biographical details that Dylan evidently gave Young during an interview (he claims to have grown up in Gallup, New Mexico, and to have started playing carnivals at age 14.) We purchased this from a Dylan fan who worked at the Folklore Center in the 70’s and obtained it from Izzy Young at the time. In overall excellent condition. A scarce Dylan collectible from the very beginning of his long and esteemed career.
