Bob Dylan – '63 Signed Town Hall Program
An incredibly rare program for Bob Dylan's first ever solo concert, signed boldly by Dylan in blue ballpoint pen. Prior to this show, Dylan had only appeared as a headliner in small clubs and the 200 seat Carnegie Recital Hall (drawing fewer than 70 people.) A much more substantial crowd of 900 attended this show at New York's prestigious Town Hall, which took place six weeks prior to the release of Dylan's 2nd album, "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan." Columbia Records recorded the show for a proposed live album, which was never released–but various tracks have surfaced over the years. The program marks the first appearance of Dylan's poem, "My Life In A Stolen Moment," reprinted many times in future years. The 4 page program measures 7" x 10" folded, and is in overall very good condition, with splits at the top and bottom of the fold, and a very small missing piece at the left edge (visible in the scan.) Dylan's signature measures nearly 5" across, and is a perfect "10". We know of only 3 other copies of this extremely scarce program. While forged Dylan signatures abound, this is absolutely the genuine article, obtained from someone who met him during his earliest years in New York. This comes with our written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, signed by Recordmecca's Jeff Gold, a well known Dylan expert. A superb Dylan collectible from a very historic moment in his career.
