Bob Dylan – “Bob Dylan vs. A.J. Weberman” Original Banned LP

An original copy of the banned 1977 album “Bob Dylan Vs. A.J. Weberman: The Historic Confrontation” on Folkways Records.  New Yorker Weberman famously stalked Dylan throughout the 1970’s, confronting him on his doorstep, digging through his garbage, and over-analyzing his lyrics; Rolling Stone magazine called him “the king of all Dylan nuts.”  This album features two January, 1971 telephone conversations Dylan had with Weberman, where they argue about Dylan’s music, songwriting, Weberman’s harrassment of Dylan, and much more.  Dylan, instead of hanging up, takes Weberman on and the results are extremely funny.  This album was withdrawn by Folkways a few days after its initial release, and is quite rare.  In Near Mint/Near Mint condition, with the original 8 page booklet (in which Weberman analyzes Dylan’s music, finding numerous “hidden messages” that only he can discern.)  Also features David Peel singing his tribute song “A.J. Weberman” and Grace Slick’s “Father Bruce.”  Scarce.
