A spectacular Mint Condition Stereo first pressing of Bob Dylan's 1962 debut album, with the very rare "6-Eye" label. Columbia Records changed their label design to a solid red design a month or two after the release of Dylan's first album, making the black/red "6-Eye" first pressings extremely desirable. Dylan was a virtual unknown when this album was released and it sold very poorly. Stereo records were just being introduced at this time, selling primarily to the audiophile market–and costing $1.00 more than Mono records. Consequently very few Stereo first pressings were made. This is perhaps the finest example to survive–the disc is stone Mint, and shows no sign of ever having been played. It is, quite simply, perfect. The original cover, without John Hammond's producer credit (the first variation) is virtually mint, with fully intact shrink wrap and just the faintest bit of aging visible along the mouth. We can't imagine a nicer copy exists of this essential and groundbreaking album.
