Bob Dylan – Original David Gahr Newport Folk Festival Photograph
An original photograph by David Gahr of Bob Dylan in conversation with manager Albert Grossman, backstage at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival (prior to the legendary performance where Dylan 'went electric.') This 8' x 10' print was made from the original negative in the mid-‘70's, for a British book on Dylan. Dylan is wearing his famous green polka dot shirt, in which he was photographed earlier rehearsing with his electric band (primarily members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.) In mint condition, this has legendary photographer Gahr's studio stamp on the reverse, with the notation 'Albert Grossman + Dylan at NFF 1965,' probably in Gahr's hand. Dylan in the calm, just before the storm.
