Bob Dylan – Original Jim Marshall Photograph From 1964 Newport Folk Festival

An original photograph of Bob Dylan at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival, taken by legendary photographer Jim Marshall.  Dylan is pictured before or after his performance at the Festival’s Topical Song Workshop, on July 24.  To the left of Dylan, wearing a wide brimmed hat, is folksinger Len Chandler, who also appeared.  We have never seen this image and can find no other example online.

This is an original 8″ x 10″ hand printed silver gelatin print in spectacular mint condition.  On the back is Marshall’s studio stamp and negative number.

The late Jim Marshall was one of the most highly acclaimed music photographers ever; he was the chief photographer at Woodstock, the only photographer allowed backstage at the Beatles last concert, and shot legendary photographs of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones Johnny Cash, and many other music legends. His photographs adorn more than 500 album covers including the Allman Brothers “At The Fillmore East” and the Jefferson Airplane’s Volunteers. His photographs are highly collectible and this is a beautiful example.
