Bob Dylan – Signed Basement Tapes Contract

A contract between Bob Dylan and The Band, signed by Dylan, setting forth Dylan's right to do what he sees fit with the "Basement Tapes" album should it revert to him; and Dylan's obligation to pay the members of The Band should he decide to license or sell it. An extremely historic document relating to one of the most famous periods in Dylan's development, and his relationship with his most beloved backing group. This "signature copy" hand signed by Dylan would have been sent to The Band's representatives for their files (The Band would have signed another copy and sent it to Dylan's representatives for their files, making it unlikely that there would be a copy with everyone's signature on it.) 2 pages, 8.5" x 11", excellent condition. NOTE: This contract is currently on loan to the museum exhibition "Bob Dylan's American Journey" and on display at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles; but it may be purchased and will be off exhibit by mid 2008.
