An oversize program for Bob Dylan and Tom Petty’s 1986 True Confessions tour, signed by Dylan, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers original lineup, and The Queens of Rhythm, Dylan’s background vocalists, including his second wife Carolyn Dennis and mother in law Madeline Quebec, both esteemed background singers.

This was signed for Grammy Award winning art director Mick Haggerty, who designed the program, as well as many famous album covers, in this case with his then partner, the late Mike Doud.  We obtained this directly from Mick Haggerty.

The program measures 11” x 14”, and the Dylan and Petty signatures are very large.  This is the only item we’ve seen signed by Dylan, Petty and all of the Heartbreakers.

The signatures read:

To Mick, Best Wishes, Bob Dylan   8/’86

To Mick, Looks Great, Tom Petty ‘86

And a fine book it is, too, Benmont Tench

Stan Lynch, Howie Epstein, and Mike Campbell simply sign their names.

This lineup of the Queens of Rhythm, who toured with Dylan from June 9th 1986 – August 6th 1986, sign as follows:

Carolyn Dennis, Dylan’s second wife, who sang with Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and many others simply signs her name.

Madeline Quebec, Carolyn Dennis’s mother and a former member of Ray Charles’ Raylettes, signs and adds ‘God Bless You’

Louise Bethune, formerly of The Shirelles, signs her name.

And on the back of the page, Queen Esther [Marrow], former accompanist to Duke Ellington, BB King, and Ray Charles, signs adding adds ‘Love’.

Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a Dylan handwriting expert, and appraised The Bob Dylan Archive, which included over 5000 handwritten items, for Dylan’s management.

An exceptional Bob Dylan/Tom Petty collectible, with Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, signed by Jeff Gold.
