Bob Weir – Vintage Egypt Photograph Signed by Photographer Adrian Boot (Grateful Dead)

An original photograph of Bob Weir in Egypt by noted English photographer Adrian Boot, taken during the Grateful Dead’s 1978 concert at the pyramids.  This has been titled “Dead-Egypt” and signed and dated (’91) on the front by Adrian Boot.  On the back is Boot’s stamped photo credit and a Retina photo library sticker. It measures  8 1/4” x 11 3/4” .

Adrian Boot is one of Britain’s most celebrated music photographers.  He was the staff photographer for Melody Maker, and also shot for NME, The Face, The Guardian and The Times (of London).  He has photographed a wide variety of musicians, from the Sex Pistols, Clash, Damned to Jimmy Page, Bob Marley & The Wailers, the Grateful Dead in Egypt, and Live Aid.

This rare, original photograph was obtained from the archives of a stock photo agency, which licensed photographs to magazines and newspapers on behalf of photographers.  It is an original hand-printed photograph, made from the original negative.  As a “vintage print”, it is much more collectible and valuable than a recent print.
