Bruce Springsteen – Script Cover Born To Run With Test Pressing LP
A rare "Script Cover" and test pressing for Bruce Springsteen's masterpiece "Born To Run." The "Script Cover" was an extremely limited-run advance album cover (with alternate lettering and no credits,) sent with test pressings to very select music writers and label executives. This copy was sent to celebrated music critic Greil Marcus, from whom we obtained it. His letter of authenticity reads, in part, "I acquired this special advance edition of Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run" some time before the official release of the album in 1975, from Columbia Records, as I had been assigned to review the album for Rolling Stone, which I did in the October 9, 1975 issue. It has been in my collection ever since. The disc itself was not played, because at the same time I received this edition, I also received an ordinary pre-release copy….Sincerely, Greil Marcus." The cover and disc are both in EX condition; the disc having some light pressing marks on both sides. Included is Greil Marcus's signed letter of authenticity, and a copy of his Rolling Stone review.
