Captain Beefheart & Magic Band – Full Band Signed 1967 ‘Safe As Milk’ Era Publishing Contract

An original 1967 signed contract between Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band and Kama Sutra Publishing, relating to songs from his debut album, Safe as Milk.  Kama Sutra was the sister label and publishing arm of Beefheart’s record label, Buddha.

This agreement, modifying the original contract with Beefheart and the band, is hand signed twice by Beefheart, using his legal name, Don Van Vliet, as well as Magic Band members Alex (St. Clair) Snoffer, Doug Moon, Gerald (Jerry) Handley and John French (Drumbo), and on behalf of Kama-Sutra by Beefheart producer and Kama-Sutra exec. Robert A. (B0b) Krasnow.

The original hand signed contract is three pages long; also included is a color copy of the five page agreement it modifies.  Each page 13″ x 8″.  With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.  A historic Beefheart artifact.
