Carole King’s handwritten lyrics for Crosby, Stills & Nash’s “Teach Your Children,” written on the back of an envelope from a Pittsfield, Mass. hotel.

As Crosby, Stills & Nash road manager Mac Holbert writes in his accompanying letter of authenticity, “Carole wrote these out on an envelope for the Colonial Hilton Inn…She used these notes when she sang background vocals on the song with Crosby & Nash at Tanglewood in 1976.  I was the tour manager for Crosby Stills and Nash for close to twenty years as well as tour manager for (Carole King’s) 1976 “Tapestry Tour” and I saved this for my personal collection.”
