Charlie Parker – Handwritten Note To His Wife

A handwritten and signed note from Jazz Giant Charlie Parker to his wife, Chan Parker. Originally sold at Christies, South Kensington (London) in 1994 as part of "The Chan Parker Collection," this note reads "I adore your every move–Burd." (Parker sometimes referred to himself by his nickname "Bird," or as he alternately spelled it, "Burd.") Parker often left Chan Parker notes around the house professing his devotion to her, and this one, with its impeccable provenance, is truly a museum quality collectible. Charlie Parker's signature is without question the rarest and most sought after in all of Jazz. Though he died in 1955 at the young age of 34, his impact as a player and improvisor is still felt today. calls him "one of a handfull of musicians who can be said to have permanently changed jazz" and "arguably the greatest saxophonist of all time." Measures 3" x 5", in excellent condition, with a single flattened horizontal fold across the middle. Included is a beautiful 8" x 10" black and white photo of Parker in performance, suitable for framing with the note, and a copy of the relevant pages from the Christie's sale catalog. As with everything we offer, guaranteed authentic with no time limit, in writing.
