Charlie Parker – Signed and Dated Autograph From Norman Saks Collection
The autograph of Bebop giant Charlie Parker. The autograph is large, measuring 4 3/4″ across (on a 5 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ slip cut from a larger piece of paper). Parker has signed beautifully in blue fountain pen, adding the date October 8, 1950 (an online Parker timeline has him playing in Detroit October 6-8, and October 9-15 in Philadelphia) . Parker died in 1955 and his autograph is probably the most sought after of all jazz musicians.
We obtained this autograph from Norman Saks, the foremost Charlie Parker collector in the world. It is pictured on page 24 in the book “Charlie Parker & Jazz Club Memorabilia: The Norman R. Saks Collection” by Ken Vale.
With Norman Saks’ signed letter of authenticity, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
