Darby Crash – Unpublished Typed Poem “Junk” (The Germs)

An unpublished poem manuscript titled “Junk,” typed and composed by Germs singer Darby Crash.  We acquired this Crash’s  friend/manager/roomate Amber (Linda Hunt.)  The poem begins “Come black stallion.  You beautiful one whom I rode before.  Break the reins from my hands” and ends in a much darker light, with “A sniff of kindly, white powder; And the death ride, I begin.”  Hunt’s letter of authenticity notes “This has been in my personal collection since I lived with Darby.”   Hunt told us her day job during her days with Darby was in a law office, and Darby used to visit and use the typewriter often.  She thought it likely this was written during one of those visits.  On a sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ typing paper, torn in half vertically.
