Earth, Wind & Fire – Maurice White Owned & Used Yamaha Motif ES 7 Keyboard Synthesizer
A Yamaha Motif ES 7 music production synthesizer, owned and used in the recording studio by Earth, Wind & Fire founder and leader Maurice White. The legendary vocalist and multi-instrumentalist founded Earth, Wind & Fire in 1970; the band went on to sell 90 million albums, win seven Grammy Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
As explained in the accompanying letter of authenticity, this was obtained by Recordmecca directly from a longtime entertainment business manager who bought White’s home (including his recording studio) from his estate. The letter reads:
This letter is to authenticate a Yamaha keyboard synthesizer owned and played by Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire. In 2018 I purchased Maurice White’s longtime residence on Baywood Court in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles from his estate. White’s home recording studio and its contents were included in the purchase, and this synthesizer was one of the instruments in the studio.”
We picked up the synthesizer directly from White’s studio, where we photographed it on-site (at right in the accompanying image). It has been professionally tested, and is in good working order, and includes the original Smart Media Card that was inside when purchased (we don’t know what, if anything, is on this). A rare opportunity to buy an instrument owned and used by one of music’s most acclaimed artists. With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, and the letter of authenticity from the buyer of Maurice White’s home and studio. (note: this will be shipped at actual cost; we estimate $75 for US and $350 internationally).
