The Who & The Yardbirds (with Eric Clapton) – 1965 Marquee Club Handbill

A very rare handbill from London’s legendary Marquee Club, advertising shows during February 1965 featuring The Who and The Yardbirds (with Eric Clapton) and others.  The Marquee was “the” club in swinging London, and this handbill illustrates why–a Tuesday night residency featuring “Maximum R&B” with The Who and The Boys, two shows by The Yardbirds (only three months before Eric Clapton left,) and gigs by Rod Stewart and the Soul Agents, The Moody Blues, the Brian Auger Trinity, Gary Farr and the T-Bones, Long John Baldry & His Hoochie Koochie Men, Buddy Guy, and British jazz legends Johnny Dankworth, Don Rendell and Dick Morrissey.  The newsletter side has a feature on The Moody Blues, news about other bands, and an ad for the American Negro Gospel Festival.  In excellent condition with a long flattened vertical fold down the middle (as it may have originally came.)  6 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ on thin newsprint stock.
