Fleetwood Mac – Huge 1970 German Concert Poster By Gunther Kieser
A huge subway-sized concert poster advertising a January, 1970 concert by Fleetwood Mac at the Munich, Germany Deutsches Museum. Fleewood Mac founder and legendary guitarist Peter Green left the band soon after this show, as a result of a strange encounter that took place while the band was in Munich for this concert. Green was met at the airport by two rich hippy types, who spirited him to their mansion in the nearby woods. “He disappeared for three days…he was getting spiked or dosed with acid,” Mac bassist John McVie recalls, “and when he came back, that was it: everything went from there.” He fell under the spell of a cult-like group, jammed with them playing strange music incomprehensible to the other band members, and according to Mick Fleetwood, was never the same again. The poster is one of the finest ever designed by German poster design legend Gunther Kieser, and measures 33″ x 47″, and is in excellent condition, with some minor edge fraying, a few small, invisibly repaired edge tears, and a faint ripple in the top left corner–it will frame beautifully, and is extremely impressive in person.
