Fleetwood Mac – Signed, Stevie Nicks Stage-Used Tambourine From “The Dance” Tour with full provenance

A Stevie Nicks stage-used tambourine signed by the complete classic lineup of Fleetwood Mac during their “The Dance” tour in 1997.  We obtained this rarity from former Warner Bros. Records vice president Larry Butler.  His accompanying letter of authenticity details the provenance of this rare artifact, and notes, in part,

“From 1979 to 2001, I was employed by Warner Brothers Records in Burbank CA as a member of the Artist Relations Department, first as a college rep, then as West Coast Manager, and finally as Vice President.

Part of my job was to set up and sometimes carry out tour promotions…over the course of those 20+ years there were several touring stints with the Fleetwood Mac juggernaut.  By the time the Dance tour came around in 1997, I was traveling with the band in their private jet, staying at their hotels and sharing in the crew meals.

Once, following the November 29 show at the Atlantic City Convention Center, while I was back in the dressing room, passing around the requisite items and Sharpies, I overheard Stevie say to an assistant that she needed a new tambourine for the next show as the one she had used that evening, motioning to the tambourine on top of a nearby wardrobe case, was shot.  I picked it up and asked if I could have it and would she sign it.  She consented and I took the liberty to passing of around the room to everyone.  Done deal.

As it wasn’t intended to be given to anyone, I’ve held onto it all these years.  What with the recent newfound interest in the band and Christine’s return to touring, I felt it was time to let it go. And there you go.  (signed) Larry Butler.”

The tambourine appears very lightly used (Larry had no idea why Stevie found it unsuitable) and is boldly signed around the perimeter by Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.  A rare opportunity to obtain a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac stage-used and signed instrument, with impeccable provenance.
