Fleetwood Mac – Unique Unlimited Backstage Pass in Fire Extinguisher Box / From Former Warner Bros. Chairman
A hard plastic Fleetwood Mac “Unlimited Access” backstage pass, housed in a custom made plexi-glass case that reads “Fire Extinguisher: In Case of Fire Break Glass,” from the collection of Russ Thyret, former Chairman of Warner Bros. Records, and a close associate of the band.
We’re guessing this was something Fleetwood Mac made in extremely small numbers for top Warners Exec’s during the Rumours era, when Thyret was the label’s head of promotion. This is not a laminated pass, but a rigid plastic pass about 1/10” with the band name, logo and Unlimited Access stamped into it. At the bottom of the pass are the letters “G.M.A.T.,” which we don’t know the meaning of.
Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a former Exec. VP of Warner Bros Records, and obtained this directly from Thyret’s estate; we have never seen nor heard of another one of these.
The fully removable pass rests in a custom plexi holder, and the case slides open, so it doesn’t have to be ‘broken’ to be used.
In overall excellent condition. 10” x 10 1/4”. With Recordmecca’s letter of authenticity, noting the unimpeachable provenance of this extraordinary Fleetwood Mac collector’s item.
