Frank Zappa – Zappa-Owned “Uncle Meat” Film Dialog Transcript, With His Handwritten Notation

Frank Zappa’s personal bound dialog transcript from his unfinished film Uncle Meat, with his  handwritten notation on the front page “Wednesday.”

The 58 page long transcript collects dialog from scenes filmed by Zappa for Uncle Meat, featuring Zappa, Phyllis Altenhaus Smith, Carl Zappa, Don Preston, and “Bill.”  This almost certainly would have been used by Zappa during the editing process, and his handwritten notation, “Wednesday” likely indicated that these scenes were filmed on that day, or were to be reviewed or edited on a Wednesday.

This bound transcript came from the estate of Zappa’s longtime manager/business partner Herb Cohen.  With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee noting this artifact’s extraordinary provenance.
