Two original 1966 MGM/Verve Records master tapes for the single disc export-version of Zappa's masterpiece debut "Freak Out." The Mothers of Invention's classic 1st album was released in the US as a double album, but outside the US as a single LP. This is a set of master tapes for both sides of that export version. Though made in 1966, they sound absolutely incredible–much cleaner and clearer sounding than any released version of this legendary record. These 15 IPS Scotch 201 tapes came from the collection of a former MGM employee, who carefully stored them in a mosture and temperature protected storage facility for over 40 years. Included is a CD transfer of the tapes, which sounds absolutely breathtaking, and a UK first pressing of the single disc "Freak Out" in EX+/NM condition.
