Frank Zappa – Unreleased Handwritten Lyric Manuscript Exhibited at Grammy Museum
An ultra rare Frank Zappa handwritten lyric manuscript for an unreleased 1960’s song, with the refrain “I’m really, really wasted.” This was the only Zappa lyric manuscript found in the archives of the late Herb Cohen, Zappa’s longtime manager.
Zappa was famously anti-drug, so this song about being wasted is all the more ironic. The sheet measures 8 1/2″ x 11″ and is in excellent condition. This lyric was exhibited at Los Angeles’s Grammy Museum, as part of their 2014 exhibition California Dreamin’: The Sounds of Laurel Canyon, 1965-1977. Zappa was one of Laurel Canyon’s most famous residents. A letter from The Grammy Museum acknowledging the loan of the lyric is included.
An extraordinary Zappa rarity by any measure. (The copyright on these lyrics are obviously the intellectual property of the Zappa estate; we are selling this only as Zappa memorabilia.)
