Gram Parsons – Handwritten Lyric Sheet
A two sided lyric sheet handwritten by Gram Parsons, including "Stories We Could Tell" and the working lyric for an unpublished original song. This page is from one of Gram's early 70's lyric notebooks, given to his collaborator Rick Gretch upon Gram's passing, and later sold by Gretch's family after his death, at Christies' in London. One side, written in brown ink, is Gram's slightly modified version of the Everly Brothers hit "Stories We Could Tell" (written by John Sebastian); the other side with the beginnings of an original, unpublished song by Parsons. Gram Parsons lyric manuscripts or handwritten items are virtually impossible to find. While this has some water staining, it is an incredibly rare, museum quality artifact documenting an important period in the career of the founder of country rock. Guaranteed authentic without time limit, in writing.
