Grateful Dead – 1969 Concert Tour Poster
A very rare Warner Bros. tour poster advertising 1969’s album by the Grateful Dead “Live/Dead.” This was the Dead’s first live album; legendary rock critic Robert Christgau wrote that parts of the album contained “the finest rock improvisation ever recorded.” Measuring 15 1/2″ x 29 1/2″, this is a “tour blank” with a space at the bottom for local promoters to write in tour dates. The image is a photograph of the Dead playing a mobbed Haight Street in San Francisco, by photographer Jim Marshall. The right side has photos of the Dead’s first four albums (see photo.) In excellent condition, with a small chip missing from the bottom right edge, and some minor handling. The only example of this poster we have ever seen.
