Grateful Dead – Jerry Garcia Handwritten Lyrics to “Lazy River Road”

A page of lyrics to the Grateful Dead classic “Lazy River Road” handwritten by the song’s co-writer, Jerry Garcia (written with Robert Hunter.)  “Lazy River Road”, which was to be included on the Band’s unfinished 14th studio album, appears the band’s So Many Roads 1965-1995. Garcia has beautifully handwritten the first three of five verses in brown fountain pen, on a 5 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ page.

Deaddisc.com notes ‘Lazy River Road’ was first performed by the Grateful Dead in February 1993. It was then played regularly through to the last show in July 1995. In total it was performed over 60 times [including the Dead’s final concert, July 9, 1995 at Soldier Field in Chicago]. The song has subsequently been performed by Furthur, The Dead, Ratdog and Phil Lesh & Friends.”
