Grateful Dead – 1969 “Live Dead” Radio Spots 7” (Mint/Unplayed)

A truly rare Warner Bros. promotional 45 with two different radio spots for the Grateful Dead’s 1969 double album “Live Dead”.  Each features a carnival barker-type announcer over a Grateful Dead music bed; in the first spot, “Saint Stephen” plays while the carnival barker announcer says “Hurry Hurry Hurry, step right up and hear the Grateful Dead roll over and play live.  Groove to the electrifying guitar wizardry of Jerry Garcia. Grind along with Phil Lesh the fastest bass player of them all.  Gasp at the legendary Pigpen who knows no shame.  Groove to exotic jungle rhythms of Micky Hart and Bill the Drummer. Grab Bob Weir and Tom Constanten– they’ll appreciate it. The galloping Grateful Dead’s newest Warner Bros. album,  a gargantuan double record album is called “Live Dead.”

The second spot is similar, but not identical. This is the only copy we’ve ever seen. Unplayed except to transcribe the copy above.  Warner Bros Seven Arts PRO 363
