Grateful Dead – Skull & Roses Album Promo Poster

A very rare promotional poster for the Grateful Dead's 1971 self-titled double live album (known popularly as either "Skull & Roses" or "Skullfuck," the name the band wanted, but Warner Bros. rejected.) The poster features the iconic artwork created by San Francisco poster artists Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, based on an illustration by Edmund Joseph Sullivan for "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam." This is only the second example of this poster we've seen, and it's in near excellent condition, with a very light moisture stain to the left of the "L" in "Live" and a diagonal edge crease along the left side. The poster measures 22" x 28", and is very dramatic in person–it will frame beautifully. Written on the back, neatly and small, is "GD Live (Warner Bros.)" A true classic.
