Grateful Dead – Sopwith Camel – 1966 Family Dog Concert Poster
A beautiful near mint first printing of the Stanley Mouse/Alton Kelley concert poster popularly known as "Frankenstein." This poster promotes a Family Dog concert by the Grateful Dead (misspelled as Greatful) and Sopwith Camel at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Printed on Vellum, this measures 13 59/64" x 19 61/64" and has the Bindweed Press credit. This beauty is fresh as can be with super bright colors and no fading or toning at all. The only very minor issues are a small and very faint age spot on the reverse, barely visible on the front above the "U" in AUG on the right side, a tiny bit of red ink (?) just to the right of the "A" in Dead, and tiny faint creases in the upper right and lower left corners–the affected areas are about the size of a match head and ultra minimal and barely noticeable. This poster is cataloged by the Eric King guide as FD-22 OP-2.
