Grateful Dead – Wake of the Flood Acetate
An extremely rare acetate of the Grateful Dead's 1973 album WAKE OF THE FLOOD, issued on Grateful Dead Records and cut at The Lacquer Channel in Sausalito, CA. The Lacquer Channel was a studio where The Dead mastered their albums. Written lightly on the Side 1 label is "from backwards Nagra tape." Nagra was a brand of tape recorder, and tapes were sometimes stored backwards ("tails out.") This is the only vintage Dead LP acetate we've ever seen, and it's a beauty, in NM to NM- condition. Rare !
