Howlin' Wolf – Alternate London Sessions Chess Records/Oak Acetate
A unique and extremely rare Howlin' Wolf/Rolling Stones/Eric Clapton/Blues/Oak Records rarity–an alternate acetate of the tracks recorded for "The London Howlin Wolf Sessions" released on Chess Records in 1970.(br)This acetate was originally purchased from a former Rolling Stones roadie, and the labels have the handwriting of Ian Stewart, founding member of the Stones, and their longtime road manager and pianist on the label–so we assume it originally belonged to him. Stewart played on this album, as did Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Stones Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts.(br)This acetate differs radically from the released album and the 2 CD reissue too; it features alternate takes of songs, versions with no overdubs, tape start/stop sounds, studio chatter, and no overdubs. Upon request we can send you a detailed breakdown of how the acetate differs from the released disc.
