Howlin’ Wolf – Owned & stage played Kay electric guitar

Howlin’ Wolf’s owned and stage played Kay electric guitar, exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Miss., Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, and the Experience Music Project in Seattle. Formerly in the collection of the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, who obtained it from the estate of Wolf’s close friend, Memphis club promoter Andrew “Sunbeam” Mitchell. Wolf often performed at Mitchell’s Club Paradise and Club Ebony in the 1960’s. He performed with this guitar at the Club Ebony. We donated this to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio (the photo shows it on exhibit there.) It was exhibited as part of “Sweet Home Chicago,” the EMP-organized exhibit on the Chicago Blues, which travelled to Chicago and Clarksdale.
