Iggy Pop – Mick Rock Original Photograph From Stooges ‘Raw Power’ Album Cover Show (20″ x 24″)

A spectacular live photograph of Iggy Pop, by legendary photographer Mick Rock, measuring 20″ x 24″.  This image was shot at The Stooges only UK date during their first incarnation, at the King’s Cross Cinema on July 15, 1972.  The Stooges were in London to record their third album, Raw Power, and Mick Rock’s photos from that show were used on that album’s cover.

This superb color print, made from the original negative, was given to photographer Joseph Cultice by Rock circa 2000.  The accompanying letter from Cultice (for this and another photograph of David Bowie, not included here) notes “I got these prints from Mick around 2000.  We traded some of my (Marilyn) Manson images for these and other pop star photos.  Mick and I shared a printer at the time, Beth Schiffer.”

This print is unsigned and is priced accordingly.  A spectacular photo of Iggy Pop in his Stooges prime.  With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.

Mick Rock is a British photographer best known for his iconic album cover photographs of David Bowie, Queen, Iggy Pop, Syd Barrett, Blondie and many others.  Often referred to as “The Man Who Shot the Seventies” he was David Bowie’s official photographer.
