Jim Morrison – Original 1968 Art Kane Photograph With TV (The Doors)
A classic photograph of Jim Morrison of The Doors with a television set taken in 1968 in the closet of a room in the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood. Kane reportedly had a hotel electrician move the room’s TV into the closet and had Morrison change the channels, while photographing his reaction to different programs.
This beautiful print measures 8 1/2″ x 11″ and is in mint condition. The back has Art Kane’s copyright stamp, and the notation in an unknown hand “Jim Morrison” and “68/78” indicating this print was made in 1978.
Art Kane (April 9, 1925 – February 3, 1995), was a legendary New York based fashion and music photographer active from the 1950s through the early 1990s. He created many portraits of contemporary musicians, including Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison and The Doors, Janis Joplin, the Rolling Stones and The Who.
