Jimi Hendrix – Mitch Mitchell’s Personal “Smash Hits” RIAA White Matte Gold Record

An original RIAA “white matte” gold record award for The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s 1969 album “Smash Hits”, presented to and owned by Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell.  Mitch Mitchell also played with John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jack Bruce and Miles Davis, and is considered one of the greatest rock drummers of all time.  This was Mitch Mitchell’s personal award, owned by him since awarded by Reprise Records, and acquired by Recordmecca directly from his widow, Dee Mitchell.

Original white matte awards are highly sought after, and this one, presented to the legendary drummer and longtime Hendrix collaborator, is truly extraordinary.  This award is completely original; we had it opened up and inspected, and a small bit of mildew on the matte cleaned.  It has the original backing paper and NY Frame & Picture Company sticker, with new tape reattaching the paper.

With Dee Mitchell’s signed letter of authenticity, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee.  A truly museum quality collectible. 17 3/4″ x 21 1/2″.
