An impossibly rare 1967 mono acetate of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s album track ‘May This Be Love’.  This song was never released as a single.

Cut by Hendrix’s U.S. and U.K. music publisher, A. Schroeder Music Corp., this 7″disc bears the name of Yameta of the Bahamas, Ltd.  Yameta was a Bahamian tax shelter corporation set up for The Animals, who’s manager Michael Jeffery and founding member and bassist Chas Chandler managed The Hendrix Experience.

In a complex and arguably dishonest deal, Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding signed a recording, publishing and management contract with Jeffery, acting as an agent for Yameta, who later added Chandler to the deal.  Yameta then contracted the Hendrix Experience’s recordings to Track Records for the UK, Warner/Reprise Records for the U.S. and Canada, and Polydor Records for the rest of the world.  Yameta licensed Hendrix’s music publishing rights to A.Schroeder.  Incidentally, we have never seen Yameta referred to ‘Yameta of the Bahamas, Ltd.’

In VG++ condition.
