Jimi Hendrix Experience – UK 1st Pressing Electric Ladyland (With White Type)

A true first pressing of Jimi Hendrix’s masterpiece Electric Ladyland, on UK Track Records.  This has white type on the inside gatefold. Yes, that’s right–copies with white type are indeed the earliest pressings, and copies with blue type are second pressings. To read the complete epic story of how this was finally settled, with the help of the album cover’s designer David King, go to Recordmecca.com/blog.

This example has an EX cover, with light wear but nothing remotely serious, and discs in NM- to EX+ condition. The discs all have -1 Stampers, and are paired Side A/D and Side B/C. While they look great, they do have numerous spindle marks and so we have play graded each. Side A sounds great, with some light surface noise at the very beginning and end of the side and a few pops. Side B has light surface noise in the quiet parts at the beginning of the side, but also sounds great. Side C has some surface noise in the quiet parts at the end but plays very well, and Side D has light surface noise at the end of the first track and at the very end, but otherwise plays very well too.

In our opinion, this is the greatest album ever released–by anyone. An essential part of any 1960’s record collection.
