A handbill for an October, 1967 series of concerts at London’s legendary Marquee Club, featuring shows by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (with Mick Taylor,) The Nice, Bluesology (with Elton John,) The Action, Ten Years After, The Iveys (Badfinger,) The Open Mind, The Gods, Freddie King, Chicken Shack, Black Cat Bones, Time Box and others. If we were to choose a time and place to be, London 1967 would surely be it, as this handbill so aptly illustrates. Imagine, seeing all these acts in one month at a small club. The front of the handbill features a photo of Ten Years After and announces their residency at the club, as well as the upcoming Hendrix show (a rare club appearance after their breakthrough) and notes ‘as we are expecting a massive crowd for this date we would urge members to buy their tickets in advance…In this way much waste of time and trouble can be avoided.’ In excellent condition, with a long flattened horizontal crease down the middle. 5 5/8′ x 9 1/8′
