A superb original photograph of Jimi Hendrix by legendary photographer Gered Mankowitz.

This was shot in Mankowitz’s studio in Mason’s Yard, London in 1967; Hendrix is wearing his famous British Royal Veterinary Corps dress jacket.  Hendrix was rousted by the London police for wearing this jacket, who felt it disrespectful to the military.

This beautiful print measures 9 1/4″ x 10 5/8″ and is in mint condition.  On the back is Mankowitz’s copyright stamp, and in pencil “Jimi Hendrix 1967” and the date this print was made, “Aug. 76”.  An all time classic Hendrix image.

Gered Mankowitz is an English photographer who specialized in photographing musicians. His classic images of Jimi Hendrix,, Traffic, The Yardbirds, Elton John, Kate Bush and many others have been the subject of seventeen books. His photograph of The Rolling Stones adorns the cover of their classic album Between the Buttons.
