Jimi Hendrix – Two Mint ‘Band of Gypsys 2’ LPs, One With Mispressed Alternate Tracks

Two first pressing copies of Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys 2,  including the rare mispressing, with four alternate live tracks on Side 2 (see below.)

In 1986, Capitol Records released Band of Gypsys 2, a companion piece to Hendrix’s 1970 live album recorded at the Fillmore East.  Some of the earliest copies were mistakenly pressed with four different live tracks on Side 2.  These were quickly withdrawn, and replaced by copies with the correct tracks.  Offered here are unplayed copies of both versions.

The mispressed disc is in unplayed, mint condition, with a near mint cover marked as a promo copy with a hole punched in the top right corner.  The correct disc is also mint and unplayed, in a near mint cover.

A scarce opportunity to obtain both versions of this excellent live Hendrix album.

[The mispressing has the correct tracks listed on Side 2, however it plays different songs:

Label reads:
Side Two
Voodoo Child (Atlanta Pop Festival)
Stone Free (Berkeley Community Center)
Ezy Rider (Berkeley Community Center)

Actual tracks pressed are:
Ezy Rider (Berkeley Community Centre)
Hey Joe
Hey Baby
(Here He Comes) Lover Man

It is believed that the performance of Hey Joe is from the Atlanta Pop Festival and the other two tracks are from Berkeley Community Centre.]
