A MONO white label promotional copy of Jimi Hendrix's second album, "Axis Bold As Love." Original U.S. Mono copies of "Axis" are among the rarest major-label records in existence, with only a handful of known stock copies, and a slightly larger number of promos–perhaps 15 to 20 in total. The disc is in VG+ condition with multiple hairline marks, but nothing remotely serious or feelable–and it sounds great, with the mono mix forward and direct. No pops, ticks, or jumps of course–it plays at least EX+. The cover grades VG(+), with some rubbing, edge wear and an invisibly repaired 4" seam split, but overall it looks good. Note that this is the ultra rare promo cover without either Mono or Stereo printed in the top left corner (the mono stock copies have "Mono" printed there, the promo copies do not.) This is the only mono promo we've had in 40 years of looking–a rare opportunity to obtain a truly rare–and great–record.
