Joe Jackson – Handwritten Lyrics for Big World Album
An astounding lot of original handwritten Joe Jackson lyrics from his BIG WORLD album. In January 1986 Joe and his band recorded their new album, Big World, live before an audience at the Roundabout Theatre in New York City. Joe performed 15 all new songs, asking the audience to refrain from making any noise or clapping until the performances were complete. Later that year he released (on A&M Records) a two disc, three sided album of these new recordings, titled BIG WORLD ( I worked on this record while a VP at A&M Records; this collection came from a former close associate of Joe's. )(br)Here is the original handwritten note from Joe to the audience, explaining to them the recording process, and 16 pages of lyrics to each song performed. These are Joe's handwritten notes, not copies, and as such are truly one of a kind. The handwritten lyrics appear one song to a sheet (with on exception) and are all written in black ballpoint pen on 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper.(br)There are lyric sheets for each of the 15 songs on the album, as follows: Wild West/Right And Wrong/Big World (2 pages)/Precious Time/Tonight and Forever/Shanghai Sky/Fifty Dollar Love Affair/We Can't Live Together/Forty Years/Survival/Soul Kiss/The Jet Set/Tango Atlantico/Home Town/Man In The Street. So that's 16 pages of lyrics, and a seventeenth page–the letter. Below you'll find scans of a representative sample of the pages. Also included is an unused backstage pass for one of the shows.(br)This is an incredible archive, and truly unique. Like everything we offer, it is guarantee authentic with no time limit.
