John Coltrane – Handwritten Manuscript for Stablemates, etc.

Two John Coltrane handwritten music manuscripts from his estate; one for Benny Golson's "Stablemates" as recorded by the Miles Davis quintet in 1955 for the album "Miles" and the other an untitled melody study. "Stablemates" continues on the reverse; the untitled study has some musical notes and a phote number with notations about a gig in pen. Handwritten Coltrane manuscripts for songs he recorded are extremely rare, and this one, recorded during his tenure with Miles Davis, is all the more desirable. Each page measures 7" x 8," with some creasing and some light moisture staining on "Stablemates" (though less than would appear on scans.) Both have the Coltrane estate stamp on the reverse. We have archivally framed them with a beautiful color photograph of Coltrane; the frame has been specially constructed so that the back of each manuscript is visible from the back of the frame. As with everything we offer, guaranteed authentic with no time limit, in writing.
